How to Add a New Domain and Manually Install the PageTest.AI Script

Adding a new domain to your PageTest.AI account and enabling content testing is quick and flexible. Whether you’re using a CMS, a custom-built website, or working directly with developers, this guide will show you exactly how to get set up.

Option 1: Add a New Domain from the Dashboard

1. Log into your PageTest.AI account.

2. Navigate to the Websites section from the main dashboard.

3. Click the “Add New Website” button.

4. Enter your domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) and click Add.

Once added, the domain will appear in your website list, and you’ll be ready to access your unique JavaScript snippet.

Option 2: Add a Domain Using the Chrome Extension

You can also add a domain while creating your first test via the PageTest.AI Chrome Extension:

1. Visit the domain you want to add.

2. Open the PageTest.AI Chrome extension.

3. Click “Test This Page.”

4. Since no tests exist yet, click Create a New Test.

5. Select the element you want to test, give your test a name, and click Save.

This process will automatically create the domain in your PageTest account when the test is saved.

✅ Tip: You can add unlimited domains to your account. Domains can be added from the dashboard or automatically via the Chrome extension.

Accessing Your JavaScript Snippet

Once your domain is added, you’ll see a small JS button next to it in the Websites section.

1. Click the JS button.

2. Copy the JavaScript snippet to your clipboard.

This script is required to activate content testing on your website.

How to Manually Add the Script to Your Website

You have multiple options for inserting the PageTest.AI script:

• Make sure it’s included on any page you want to test.

• You can add it via your theme files or through a site-wide custom code manager.

If you’re working with a developer or agency, simply share the copied script with them. It only needs to be added once per domain.
